Official: Barcelona to Face Como in Gamper Trophy
FC Barcelona have officially announced that Como 1907 will be their opponent in this year’s Joan Gamper Trophy, set to take place on August 10 at 9:00 PM CEST. Due to licensing issues at the Spotify Camp Nou, the match has been relocated to the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
This will be the 60th edition of the Gamper Trophy, now branded the “Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm.”
The fixture will be a special one, not just because it’s Barça’s final test before the 2025/26 season opener against Mallorca, but also because of the connections between the two clubs. Como, recently promoted to Serie A, are managed by former Barça star Cesc Fàbregas, while club legend Sergi Roberto now plays for the Italian side. In addition, Alex Valle, a product of La Masia, has joined Como permanently after a successful loan spell.
The Gamper match will also mark the official squad presentation of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, following their pre-season tour of Asia. It will be a historic clash too – the first-ever meeting between Barcelona and Como in the clubs’ 125- and 118-year histories, respectively.
